Steve Chastain, Founder of Value Realization Partners, has 35+ years of global experience and multidisciplinary skills in corporate finance, operations, engineering, and information technology. As a strategic advisor or operating partner, Mr. Chastain brings a unique skillset to assist in managing human and investment capital, as well as inspiring and leading professional staff and executive colleagues to higher level operational and financial performance.

As a trusted advisor and accomplished investor, he has held senior management positions with some of the “World’s Largest,” “Most Admired,” and “Best in Industry” corporations including:

  • Next Era Energy / FPL, “The World’s Largest Producer of Wind and Solar Energy”
  • Deloitte & Touche’, “The largest of the “Big Four” Global Audit, Tax, and Corporate Advisory Firms

Throughout his career, Mr. Chastain has helped numerous corporate clients identify, capture, and enhance their value, including: Oil & Gas Global Majors, National Oil Companies (NOCs), and more than 50 different Electric & Gas Utilities in the US, Canada, all throughout Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, as well as global gas / LNG players with “Mid-Stream” Inter and Intra-state gas pipeline or Global Industrials with large-scale Infrastructure.  

Among numerous engagements, Mr. Chastain has led or participated in ~$120B in Corporate M&A, including cross border and multi-jurisdictional transactions as well as several foreign privatizations. In addition to large corporate stock-for-stock type mergers, he has advised Ministries of Energy abroad on a variety of strategic issues such as creation of a National Grid, Privatizations, and Strategies related to global trade of energy commodities.  

Within the United States, Mr. Chastain has advised US Corporate Boards and their C-Suite Management under retained Master Services Agreements on complex matters such as: targeted acquisitions, spin-outs, capital allocations, enterprise-wide technology deployments, strategic defense, bear-hugs, capital re-structuring, and NewCo formation of new corporate entities including the first Energy REIT in North America.
